Perfume Benchmark Matching Description
Gar Aromas® provides Perfume Benchmark Matching as a commercial fragrance matching service for perfume brands, private label projects, fragrance distributors and OEM/ODM manufacturers. We develop fragrance concentrates from customer-provided reference samples or defined scent targets, with evaluation against agreed scent, performance and cost requirements.
Unlike custom perfume fragrance development, which starts from a new fragrance brief, benchmark matching begins with an existing scent reference. The goal is not simply to reproduce an odor profile, but to develop a fragrance that meets the customer’s requirements for scent similarity, perfume format, performance, target price, market positioning, and regulatory suitability.
During development, we evaluate the fragrance structure, top-note impression, heart character, dry-down, diffusion, lasting performance, base compatibility, and overall balance. Different versions can also be prepared according to similarity level, performance requirements, or target cost.
Gar Aromas® supports benchmark matching for EDP, EDT, body mist, perfume oil, and private label perfume projects. After sample evaluation, the formula can be further adjusted according to customer feedback before bulk production.
For customer-provided benchmark samples, GC-MS analysis can support fragrance composition review and help identify possible aroma material clues. GC-MS is used as an analytical support tool; final fragrance development still depends on perfumer evaluation, olfactive comparison, formula adjustment, and testing in the intended perfume base.
