Soap Fragrance Description
Soap Fragrance is developed for solid soap products where fragrance needs to remain stable during production, shaping, storage, and use. Unlike body wash or hand wash, soap is usually a solid cleansing product, and the fragrance may be affected by soap base materials, alkaline conditions, plant oils, pigments, additives, and production temperature.
A suitable soap fragrance should not only smell pleasant in the finished product, but also maintain a clean and balanced scent when the soap contacts water and foam. It should help reduce common issues such as scent weakening, fragrance distortion, discoloration, or poor scent release during use.

Soap Fragrance FAQ
How should Soap Fragrance be tested before production?
Soap Fragrance should be tested in the actual soap base before commercial production. Some fragrances may smell good alone but become weaker, distorted, or cause color changes after being added to soap. We recommend testing scent stability, color stability, heat resistance, storage performance, and scent release during use with water and foam.
Can you develop unisex or perfume-inspired soap fragrances?
Yes. Gar Aromas® can recommend options or develop a fragrance direction from your brief or reference sample. Selection considers the soap base, production process, target audience, desired scent intensity and fragrance budget.
Can the same fragrance be used in cold-process and melt-and-pour soap?
Each application should be evaluated separately. For cold-process soap, check processing behavior as well as scent and color after curing. For melt-and-pour soap, evaluate the fragrance under the intended addition, cooling and storage conditions. Share your base and production method when requesting samples.
How should fragrance be evaluated in white or transparent soap?
Compare fragranced samples with an unfragranced control made from the same base. Check color, clarity where required and scent after processing, curing where applicable and storage. Use the results to guide fragrance selection for the intended appearance.
What fragrance dosage should I use in soap?
The appropriate dosage depends on the selected fragrance, soap base, production process and desired scent intensity. We can recommend a starting level for evaluation. Confirm the final use level through finished-product testing and review of the applicable fragrance documentation.
What sample size and minimum order quantity do you offer?
Evaluation samples are supplied in 30 mL glass bottles. The standard minimum order quantity is 50 kg per fragrance, with bulk supply in 25 kg drums. Requirements for custom development projects are confirmed during quotation.
