Choosing Fragrance for Your Cleaning Formula
A fragrance decision should address both scent preference and the conditions in which the cleaner will be stored and used.
- Define the base: record the cleaner format, full ingredient system, pH and intended fragrance addition level.
- Compare candidates: use the same cleaner base and evaluation conditions to assess scent, appearance and formula behavior.
- Check the use experience: evaluate spraying, wiping, washing or mopping as appropriate, including the recommended dilution for concentrates.
- Approve the production reference: confirm the chosen fragrance and document the results of your formulation and storage assessment.
Request starting guidance for the selected fragrance, then confirm the final addition level through testing and applicable use limits.
Start a Custom Home Care Fragrance Project
A clear brief helps turn a scent idea into a testable fragrance project. Include:
- The cleaning product and its formula or base specification
- Preferred fragrance notes, reference scent and desired intensity
- Target market, brand positioning and fragrance cost target
- Intended use dilution, where applicable
- Expected order quantity and required documents
Specify whether you need a new scent, adjustment toward a benchmark or manufacture to a formula you provide. Development scope, approval steps and commercial terms can then be discussed for the project.

Home Care Fragrance Applications
Develop a kitchen scent brief around lemon, citrus, green tea, herbal or light floral notes. Evaluate scent during washing and after rinsing, alongside appearance and viscosity in the finished hand dishwashing formula. A subtle scent brief can be considered for products aimed at lighter fragrance preferences.
Explore surface cleaner fragrance for kitchen sprays, wiping products and multi-surface cleaning liquids. Define the desired scent while spraying, wiping and after use. Selection should consider the actual pH, surfactants, solvents, solubilizers and active ingredients in the finished cleaner.
Create a scent brief for the mopping experience and room impression after cleaning. For concentrated products, compare samples in both the stored concentrate and the recommended use dilution. Pine, citrus, lavender, herbal and tea notes provide starting points for different brand concepts.
Select a scent direction for the specified toilet cleaner base, from familiar pine and mint to citrus, floral or tea concepts. Projects seeking acid stable fragrance require assessment in the actual acidic formula. Chlorine-based and other active systems need their own suitability review.
Home Care Fragrance Series
Choose the product page that matches the cleaner you manufacture. Each page provides application details, evaluation points and sample information for that product type.
- Dishwashing Liquid Fragrance — for hand dishwashing liquids and dish soap, with scent briefs suited to kitchen use.
- Surface Cleaner Fragrance — for multi-surface cleaners, kitchen cleaners and cleaning sprays.
- Floor Cleaner Fragrance — for mopping liquids and concentrated floor cleaners, including evaluation at the intended dilution.
- Toilet Cleaner Fragrance — for toilet bowl and WC cleaner projects, with selection based on the specified acid or active ingredient system.
For a coordinated product range, start with a shared scent identity and assess each application separately.
Request Home Care Fragrance Samples and a Quote
Tell us which cleaner you manufacture, your formula type, preferred scent, target market and expected order quantity. Include the pH and acid or active ingredient system where relevant. For concentrated cleaners, specify the intended dilution. Gar Aromas can discuss sample options, custom development and bulk pricing for your project.
Why Choose Gar Aromas for Home Care Fragrance?
Start with the cleaner’s format and use conditions. A dishwashing liquid, surface spray and diluted mopping product present different evaluation questions. We discuss these requirements with your team when selecting fragrance candidates for testing.
Build a fragrance brief around your brand identity, market preferences and cost target. Projects can explore an existing scent direction, a new fragrance concept or adjustment of an approved candidate based on feedback from the finished cleaner.
Use fragrance samples to compare candidates in your own cleaner base. Agree on evaluation conditions and record the results before selecting a formula for production. Feedback on scent character, intensity and product appearance helps guide the next development step.
Discuss sample options, order quantity, packaging and document requirements at the start of the project. Standard supply terms and any custom development conditions can then be confirmed for the selected fragrance before you place a bulk order.
Home Care Fragrance FAQs
Our home care range covers hand dishwashing liquids, surface cleaners, floor cleaners and toilet cleaners. We supply fragrance ingredients for brands and manufacturers to incorporate into their finished formulas. Use the relevant product page to explore application details and sample requirements.
We can discuss fragrance development for acidic toilet cleaner projects. Please share the acid type and concentration, finished product pH and other formula components. Suitability must be confirmed for the selected fragrance in the actual cleaner. Approval in one acidic base does not establish compatibility with another acid system, an alkaline cleaner or a chlorine-based formula.
Yes. Your brief can specify a subtle dishwashing scent, a bright surface cleaning fragrance or a more pronounced bathroom scent. Share your preferred notes, reference sample, target market and cost target. The fragrance character and final addition level should be assessed together in the finished product.
The standard MOQ is 50 kg per fragrance, with standard bulk packing in 25 kg drums. Order quantities and development conditions for custom projects or special requirements are confirmed separately before production.
Test samples in the cleaner you intend to manufacture, using consistent addition levels and preparation conditions when comparing candidates. Record scent, appearance, color, viscosity and any separation, then assess changes during your planned storage testing. For concentrated cleaners, also evaluate the intended use dilution. Final approval should cover the formula and its actual use conditions.
Request SDS and applicable IFRA conformity documentation for the selected fragrance and intended use. COA, allergen information and additional document needs should be confirmed for your project. Fragrance documentation supports your formulation review; the finished cleaner still requires its own assessment against the requirements of the destination market.
