Custom Scents for Your Deodorant Brand

Build your fragrance brief around the intended customer, preferred scent character, intensity and target cost. Projects can explore crisp citrus, fresh aquatic accords, herbal green notes, soft powdery florals, clean musk or woody perfume-inspired directions.

Share a reference product or fragrance sample to help communicate the opening and dry-down you want. Sample feedback can guide adjustments to scent character and intensity in the finished product.

Evaluate Each Product Format

Test fragrance samples in your actual deodorant base. Roll-ons, solid sticks and sprays have different formulation and processing requirements, so each version should be evaluated separately.

For roll-ons, assess appearance, viscosity, separation and scent. For sticks, include the intended heating, filling and cooling process, then check fragrance dispersion, consistency, color and odor during storage. For sprays, evaluate the finished formula and its dispensing system; aerosol projects should include the actual propellant and filled package.

Confirm the selected fragrance’s documentation and final use level for the intended application before approving it for production.

Deodorant Fragrance FAQ

What type of fragrance is suitable for deodorant products?
Deodorant products need fragrances that feel clean, fresh, and comfortable during daily use. Clean musk, citrus fresh, herbal green, aquatic, powdery clean, woody, sporty, and light perfume-inspired directions are commonly suitable. Since deodorant products are often used close to the skin, the fragrance should be tested in the actual formula for scent comfort, stability, and regulatory suitability.
Can the same fragrance be used in roll-ons, sticks and sprays?
A shared scent concept can be developed across these formats, but each formulation requires separate evaluation. Solubility, processing conditions, product consistency and dispensing systems can affect fragrance performance. Test each finished product individually, including the intended propellant and package for aerosol applications.
How should deodorant fragrance samples be tested?
Incorporate samples into your actual base at agreed trial levels and compare them with an unfragranced control. Check scent, appearance, color and physical stability after processing and during storage. Include format-specific checks such as roll-on viscosity, stick consistency or spray performance, using the intended packaging.
What fragrance dosage should I use in deodorant?
The appropriate dosage depends on the selected fragrance, intended application, formula base and scent target. Ask for starting guidance and the relevant documentation for your deodorant project. Compare trial levels in the finished formula before selecting a final dosage within applicable use limits.
Does deodorant fragrance reduce sweating?
Fragrance is selected for the product’s scent experience. Sweat reduction is an antiperspirant performance target that should be supported by the finished formulation and its active system. Specific odor-control and wear-duration claims should also be evaluated in the finished product. Include these targets in your development brief.
What sample size and minimum order quantity do you offer?
We offer fragrance samples in 30 mL glass bottles for formula evaluation. Our standard minimum order quantity is 50 kg per fragrance, with bulk packing in 25 kg drums. Custom development requirements and other project arrangements are quoted individually.
